Over 4,000 children die daily from diarrhoea due to lack of safe drinking water and proper sanitation that is ONE child every 20 SECONDS. WellFound is a grassroots Water and Sanitation Charity providing safe water and hygienic sanitation facilities directly to those most in need. Provision of water and sanitation is the first step towards empowering communities to lift themselves out of poverty, independently and sustainably. Water really does make a world of difference in the communities WellFound works for. We understand that polluted water is the biggest killer of children in Guinea-Bissau as 92% of infants there will die before reaching the age of 5, and that children in poor environments often carry 1,000 parasitic worms in their bodies at any time. The water and sanitation crisis has claimed more lives through disease than any war has claimed through guns.
