Recycle-IT

We are Recycle-It (recycle-it.uk.com), a Social Enterprise based in Manchester and we are looking for redundant IT equipment to collect, refurbish and redistribute. We collect redundant IT equipment (W.E.E.E regulated) from Schools, Councils, Business and Domestic Households. We then test and inspect the hardware with trained staff and members of the community before sending it to schools and education facilities in the developing countries and into the local communities where the equipment still has valuable use and is much needed. This sets us apart from most other IT Recyclers in the UK as we care about the end result of the equipment collected what happens to it and where it’s redistributed. As a team we have trained in many areas from Environmental and Social to Technical and Business to make this happen. We completely sanitize and refurbish the redundant IT equipment ready for reuse with certified hard drive wiping software (Blancco and Ontrack ) and ethically recycle the unusable IT equipment with 0% going to land fill. We are fully W.E.E.E licensed and regulated (registration number EAN/965742/CB). We provide full certification of hard drive data destruction and itineraries of assets and stock collected for tracking and monitoring purposes We have worked with City College Manchester for over 2 years now and are proud to be able to offer placements to the Local Community Students and Apprentices who have the chance to gain genuine work experience within a Social Enterprise that has the aims of benefiting the community. Working with computer aid international computeraid.org, we have successfully exported seven containers of recycled it equipment bound to the developing countries in Africa. We are in search of more redundant IT equipment to help the communities bridge the digital divide. If you have any IT equipment you need to dispose of, we would be happy to collect and ethically recycle and redistribute it.
